Initial Consultation & Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a holistic healing system that has been practiced for thousands of years. It involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body, known as acupoints. These points are connected by pathways, called meridians, through which vital energy, or qi, flows.

Kevin Yen is a licensed acupuncturist who combines Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with his background in engineering and computer science to offer a unique approach to healing.

His interest in healing began in the early 2000s when he used Qi Gong and meditation to help people while working as a software diagnostic engineer. The positive outcomes he witnessed sparked his curiosity about the flow of Qi (energy) in the body. This led him to explore various healing systems, including Western medicine, Indian Ayurveda, and Tibetan medicine, before ultimately finding the most compelling answers in TCM.

He furthered his knowledge at Nine Star University of Health Science, where he refined his skills in acupuncture and gained a deep understanding of TCM theories. His unique approach focuses on the 一气周流 or “Round Circulation of Qi” (RCQ), which emphasizes the continuous flow of energy throughout the body. Using his engineering background, he developed a unique acupuncture system that specifically addresses and restores RCQ to promote healing and balance. His specialties include diagnosing Qi/Blood blockages and using precise acupuncture techniques to treat a wide range of complex conditions, including pain management, headaches, thyroid disorders, dysautonomia, insomnia, hormone imbalances, weight loss, anxiety, irregular blood pressure, infertility, and birth induction. He also helps individuals enhance concentration and athletic performance through his Tai-Qi acupuncture/acupressure technique.

In addition to his clinical work, Kevin shares his expertise as a professor and clinic teacher at California University Silicon Valley in Sunnyvale. Since 2022, he has mentored interns and taught introductory acupuncture courses in both English and Mandarin.
